I have spent my life loving horses and involving my family in that love (including my grandson, Austin). From galloping race horses to working on a Morgan breeding and show farm while I was in college, to managing my own breeding and training farm with my children, to training Standardbred racehorses, to managing equestrian centers, to managing a private stable of show jumpers, I have embraced continuous learning and excellence. Through these life experiences, I came to believe that bodywork for horses is an essential aspect of horse care.
For more than 15 years, I have made it my goal to provide horses with the best bodywork support possible. I am certified in equine sports massage Nd canine massage through Equissage, in equine rehabilitation through Animal Rehab Institute, in structural balancing through Equine~Do Institute, and in Craniosacral Therapy through Holisitic Animal Studies. I participate in continuing education workshops whenever possible.
The Right Touch has provided holistic support to horses, their trainers, and owners through consultation relating to conditioning, nutrition of individual horses, and saddle fit as well as through bodywork. I believe this comprehensive approach helps owners and trainers achieve their goals while simultaneously improving the quality of life for their horses. Additionally, I have worked closely with trainers, veterinarians, and farriers to develop a professional team approach to supporting equine athletes, which I believe is by far the best way to help horses and the people who love them.
Today, my focus is on teaching others my holistic comprehensive approach to equine bodywork. I am a certified as a Preferred Education Provider through IAAMB. I have taught Equine Integrated Bodywork at SUNY Cobleskill for 3 years and hope to continue to teach through clinics and internships here in Virginia.
